Pre-Kindergarten 3

For most students, this is their first school-age experience. Our goal is to help students increase their curiosity, while supporting their exploration of the world around them. At this age students begin to add more words to their vocabulary and start speaking in short, but complete sentences. “Why” and “how” become two of their favorite words. Their gross and fine motor skills increase allowing them to begin to move their bodies differently. This is the age when students begin to throw balls, jump, run, and skip with greater ease.

In the classroom, activities including drawing, stacking blocks, listening to stories, playing house, and copying shapes. Self-care is reinforced as they learn to dress and undress themselves and wash and dry their hands.

Faith experiences are introduced through daily prayer and Bible stories. Seasons of the church year are explored, and students celebrate Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter.
